Session 1 – The consequences of growing risk: How global uncertainty and instability are reshaping risk models?

Global risks are evolving rapidly, testing established assumptions across markets. Geopolitical tensions, climate change, cyber threats and supply chain disruptions are no longer isolated challenges. They interact and compound, reshaping how risk is assessed, priced and managed. Traditional models, designed for more stable environments, are being refined to reflect greater volatility and complexity. These developments have profound implications for underwriting, capital allocation and the cost of coverage across multiple lines of business.
This panel brings together leading voices from insurance, reinsurance and brokerage to explore how this convergence of global risks is transforming risk frameworks. It will examine the combined impact of geopolitical volatility, climate-related catastrophes, cyber vulnerabilities, supply chain fragmentation and shifting alliances on global markets, and discuss concrete approaches to strengthen resilience and maintain insurability.

Strategic dialogue – Europe on the global stage: Influence or irrelevance?

As major jurisdictions pursue increasingly divergent regulatory strategies, debate is intensifying over Europe’s role on the global stage. The EU is advancing far-reaching frameworks such as the AI Act, its broader digital rulebook and the European Green Deal, reflecting an ambition to steer technological innovation and climate action in line with European values, consumer protection and long-term economic sustainability. Elsewhere, regulators emphasise market flexibility, rapid innovation or lighter-touch oversight.
These contrasting approaches intersect with debates over sovereignty — including digital and technological sovereignty — shaping competitiveness, data flows and insurers’ ability to operate across borders. This session brings together viewpoints from major jurisdictions across the world to explore how these regulatory models are evolving, where Europe’s leadership is driving global standards and where divergences may create challenges. The discussion will examine what this means for competitiveness and innovation worldwide. It will also explore how insurers can navigate a more fragmented global environment while sustaining growth and consumer trust.
